Our story

Brainspotting Help supports communities impacted by war or natural disasters:

  • connecting affected individuals, no matter where they are in the world, with mental health professionals volunteering pro bono psychological support

  • helping mental health professionals in Ukraine and on the Island of Maui serve their communities by providing specialty trainings in trauma treatment and group consultation meetings

Our volunteers speak English, Ukrainian, German, Polish, Spanish, Hebrew, Mandarin, Japanese, Turkish, Russian and Armenian.

When the invasion of Ukraine caused millions of women and children to seek safety and shelter in neighboring countries, European Brainspotting trainers came together to organize support for first responders and volunteers on the ground assisting arriving refugees.

A webinar "How to Support in Crisis; Powerful Brainspotting Insights" was organized so the first responders could learn new techniques to help support the refugees. This joint effort gave rise to additional support from the international Brainspotting community; specialty training webinars, free therapy sessions for those affected and group consultation meetings for volunteers and therapists in Ukraine.

Our volunteers are at the heart of this work. Trainers, consultants, therapists  and coaches all find joy in generously donating their time and their expertise to those in need.

But we also depend on donations to fund administrative expenses, compensation to Ukrainian translators, and cash subsidies for Ukranian mental health volunteers who work in the most affected areas.

If you or your organization would like to join our amazing team by making a donation to ensure our work continues, please use our online donation forms
