Mission Statement

Our mission is to enable those affected by war and natural disasters to get access to Brainspotting therapy and support, to ease their suffering, and prevent the development of trauma response in the future. 

We attain this by:

  • Connecting individuals in affected communities with mental health volunteers from around the world

  • Offering professional support and specialty education to mental health professionals in these communities

  • Disseminating knowledge aimed at facilitating healing and resilience

Our Vision

Everyone deserves to live in peace and have access to support. As Brainspotting therapy has deeply changed and improved lives of so many people around the world, our vision is to make Brainspotting accessible to those who need it the most.

Statutory Objectives of the Brainspotting Help Foundation

§ 1

 

The purpose of the Foundation is to be engaged in providing mental health healing for persons affected by war, natural disasters and catastrophes.

§ 2

The Foundation helps individuals who are experiencing symptoms of emotional trauma as a result of:

  • Personal loss

  • Physical injury

  • Loss of community, home, possessions, finances, job or business

  • Forced displacement

  • Imprisonment/captivity

  • Forced separation from family

  • Witnessing traumatic events

This may be the result of:

  • War

  • Natural disasters

  • Man-made disasters that are either deliberate (such as terrorist attacks) or accidental (such as environmental, industrial or transportation catastrophes)

The Foundation pursues its goals by:

  1. Organizing free individual and/or group psychological support services

  2. Arranging translation for those who need it in order to receive services

  3. Providing support for mental health professionals who live and work in areas affected by events listed in § 2, or have had to leave these areas as refugees, by organizing, providing or funding:

    • Free or subsidized Brainspotting and other trauma therapy specialty training

    • Subsidies and grants

    • Free trainings, lectures, webinars and workshops

    • Professional support in the form of consultation group meetings

    • Emotional support in groups or on an individual basis

  4. Providing professional support and education for mental health professionals who work on a volunteer basis with persons listed in § 2 by organizing:

    • Free or discounted specialty trainings, workshops, lectures and webinars

    •  Consultation group meetings

  5. Disseminating psychoeducation information aimed at facilitating healing and resilience in populations and communities facing adversity during times of crisis.
